Response 1:
Demon.
This photograph is not strong, the photoshop techniques that i used were not the best that i have ever done, the idea is very good and relates to my research very well

Photography studio workshop:
Health and safety:
- No food and drink but bottles with a lid are allowed.
- Careful of trip hazards
- For the tripods extend the legs and make sure it is stable and check that its strong.
- There are 3 background rolls and use the chain to pull it down and roll it up.
- Ask a technician to change the colour, don't do it yourself.
- Use the rubber strip to stop the paper background from curling.
- Always remove shoes before stepping on the paper.
- Switch the lights off before changing accessories but leave 10/15 minutes.
- Trigger flash before turning off.
- Never use the light without an accessory.
- if the light is faulty it will beep.
Basic Camera functions:
Aperture:
Aperture lets light into the camera, the larger the aperture the more light is let in through the lens and the smaller the aperture the less light is let in through the lens.
You measure the aperture in F numbers, the smaller the F number the more light is let in a visa versa.
Depth of field:
A large aperture gives a shallow depth of field, and you use the black dial on the camera. depth of field effects the foreground, middleground and the background. It controls how much of an object can be in focus.
Shutter Speed:
The shutter speed controls the amount of light, is the shutter speed is slow the more light is received and the faster the shutter speed is the less light is received. and use the top dial of the camera you get given in the studio.
I set up and learned about the lights, I know how to change the accessory and use the different modes on the back. this is the example that I did and used a dummy to model the lightning.
This light meter is used to measure the ISO, shutter speed and aperture by holding it up to the model while the flash and lights are set off, it then tells you what numbers you need to put into the camera to get the right exposure for a good photograph.

Using the photography studio and doing my first shoot.
Here is my model Beth Scarrot sitting in a chair in the studio that i used, She is currently painted blue due to the idea of my work, which involved her being blue.
My friends helped with me painting Beth the different colours that i needed.
I edited the final images on photoshop, i made the colours more vibrant and deep, i also edited her hair to be the same colour as her body by using the paint tool and making it not very opaque so that it wasn't a blocked colour.

3 point lighting.
Three point lighting is where you use 3 different types of lighting whether you're in a studio or shooting elsewhere, it is consisted of a back light, fill light and a key light. using these lights creates highlighting, shadows and light. Key lighting is the most important and is the strongest when it is either left or right of the subject and is then added with the other lights that create shadow and normal light, (fill and back light) this is helpful when shooting because the light is used to model a form.
diagrams of 3 point lighting:
Here are my final photographs in response to three point lighting, using a fill light, back light and a key light, reflecting three different types of emotion:
rage
despair
joy

Brief 2: Produce outcomes for the word 'Portrait' and 'Gothic'
_________________________________________________________________________________
Types of Portraiture Photography.
Candid Portrait photography:
Where the person/ people are unaware of the photograph being taken, these types of portrait photographs are very natural and spontaneous.Posed Portrait Photography:
Where the subject/person/model is aware of the photograph being taken and is in a specific pose or costume fit for a theme if there is one.Environmental Portrait Photography:
Focusing on the relation between the subject and his/hers/ their environments, usually the main focus of the photograph.Individual Portrait photography:
Where there is only one person in the photograph/frame.Group Portrait:
When there is more than one person in a photograph. some examples would be a family photograph, class photos, batch photos etc.Close up Portrait:
When the photograph is taken at a very short distance or using a zoom or a macro lens. it usually covers the whole face and fills the frame.Facial Shot Portrait:
Where the photograph is taken from the neck-up and usually quite close to the face.Upper Body Portrait:
Where the photograph is taken from the waist upFull Body Portrait:
When the 3/4th portion of the whole body is shown in a photograph, weather they are standing or sitting down.

Location Scouting.
I went to a woodland area in Ashtead common, i knew this would be a good place to scout for locations to take photographs because i know the place very well,

Slow Shutter Speed self Portraits.
I took these self portrait photographs with a slow shutter speed with my camera, by doing this i could move body parts to create a motion blurred photograph creating an eerie and creepy effect, i made them black and white in the editing process so that they can relate to the word 'Gothic'.

Taking a photograph.
Taking a photograph is where you act on instinct and be spontaneous and take a random photograph with whatever device you have, these three photographs were taken n my IPhone, even though they were not taken with a high tech camera or edited through photoshop they all give a sense of the natural world because they seem very spontaneous and pure.

Making a Photograph.
Making a Photograph.
Making a photograph is where you do use a high tech camera, in this case Nikon and a Cannon. its very different to taking a photograph because this type of photograph is planned and staged, i have told the model what to do, I have scouted a location for the landscape and chose a specific scene and i have taken a photograph of an object in a studio, these photographs are not very real at all and looks professional compared to 'taking'.
_________________________________________________________________________________
Faking a Photograph.
Faking a photograph is where you take a photograph and it is staged much like 'making', but it is also edited using a software to create an edited piece that is 'fake' and couldn't exist in the real world at all, for example my subject could not be half negative, a landscape cannot be cut up and put back together and an object cannot look that good in a shop without it being edited.
